Dublin is the shopping capital of Ireland and we have our own unique sense of identity when it comes to clothes and fashion. A quick walk through the city and you’ll notice our style-savvy residents sporting an eclectic mix of designer, vintage and second-hand pieces. On a local level, many of the latest trends and classic looks can be found in Dundrum Town Centre along with other fun activities.
If you’re looking for fast fashion and the latest trends at affordable prices, Dundrum Town Centre has a huge selection of high-street favourite to cater to your taste and style. Some of the many stores include River Island, Aldo, Bershka and so many more so there is something to suit every age, size and budget. The stores are always packed with the latest clothing trends and crazes and they often have seasonal sales. This huge centre has over 130 stores and opens late on a Thursday so you can even pop in after a long day for some bargains.
If you’re looking for a dress for a special occasion, a suit for an upcoming wedding or some designer shoes to complement either, Dundrum Town Centre has a great selection of high-end and designer outlets too. Dublin’s only Hollister Stores opened in Dundrum in 2011 and attracted huge crowds with their designer casual wear, cementing itself as a firm favourite in the centre. Another popular store which has become an institution on the designer shopping scene is BT2 with a huge selection of high-end shoes, clothes and bags. Other great choices are Hobbs, Harvey Nichols and Tommy Hilfiger; they really have designer shopping covered!
Dundrum is so much more than a self-contained shopping centre, in fact there has been stores, houses, restaurants and pubs scattered across the village for decades before the town centre opened in 2005. It’s always great to support local so drop into one of the local’s shops for some supplies on your way home. Drop into The Silly Shop for all of your party needs, visit Campbells Corner for bespoke tailoring and to see Dundrum’s oldest shop front and support the local post office which is still thriving thanks to the loyal locals.
If you’re into bargain hunting or want to step away from the cookie cutter fashion offered in the mainstream, vintage and second-hand shops are a great way to jazz up your wardrobe. Dundrum Village Charity shop sells high value, low cost donated items ranging from shirts to skirts and books to bow ties. Their proceeds go to a very deserving charity, Women’s Aid, which provides support and information to women experiencing domestic violence. As the store is in an affluent part of Dublin, they often receive unworn designer good and antique books and nick-nacks so you could really grab yourself a bargain!
